2011 Park Ridge Fire Department Open House

Fire Department Open House
October 1st, 2011
The Park Ridge Fire Department will host its annual Open House on Saturday, October 1, 2011 from 12 Noon until 4 p.m. Fire Station #36 will be the site of this event, located at 1000 N. Greenwood Ave. in Park Ridge, at the corner of Oakton Street and Greenwood Ave. Parking is available on the East side of Greenwood in the parking lot of Resurrection Pavilion, 1001 N. Greenwood Ave.
This event provides a unique opportunity to not only meet and greet fire personnel, but to tour displays of fire equipment, including Comm 3, a Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) Division 3 asset, shared by Fire Departments throughout the area.
To showcase the Fire Department’s equipment and capabilities, a vehicle extrication demonstration will take place during Open House at 1 and 3 p.m. Children can learn the fundamentals of fire safety at the Fire Safety House, built as an addition to the fire station and can also utilize an interactive traveling exhibit provided by the Illinois Safety Fire Alliance, to test your fire safety knowledge! Many organizations such as Lutheran General Hospital, Resurrection Hospital, North Suburban Emergency Communication Center (NSECC), Nicor and Come Ed will be on hand with information and hand outs.
Ronald McDonald will be visiting at 1:30 p.m. to pass out fire safety books.
Admission is free. Refreshments will be provided by the Metropolitan Emergency Support Services group (MESS Canteen).
