Annual Park Ridge Fire Department Open House Scheduled for October 5, 2013
The Park Ridge Fire Department will host its annual Open House on Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. Fire Station #36 will be the site of this event, located at 1000 N. Greenwood Ave. in Park Ridge, at the corner of Oakton Street and Greenwood Ave. Parking is available on the East side of Greenwood in the parking lot of Resurrection Pavilion, 1001 N. Greenwood Ave.
This event provides a unique opportunity to not only meet and greet fire personnel, but also have the opportunity to investigate fire apparatus. To showcase the Fire Department’s equipment and capabilities, a vehicle extrication will take place.
Children can learn the fundamentals of fire safety at the Fire Safety House, an interactive exhibit built as an addition to the fire station. We will be offering free blood pressure checks for visitors as well as a scheduled visit from Ronald McDonald at 2:30 p.m.
Admission is free. Refreshments will be provided by the Park Ridge Fire Department and served by the Metropolitan Emergency Support Services group (MESS Canteen).
