Would you like to serve on a City Board or Commission?

The City is seeking to fill one position on the Animal Commission and two positions on the  Community Health Commission.  

Learn more about the responsibilities of the position and the qualifications by visiting the City’s website at www.parkridge.us.   In the upper right SEARCH field, enter Boards and Commissions.  Applications are available online or in the foyer at City Hall.  Applicants are strongly encouraged to review past Board or Commission minutes to better understand the business that is conducted at meetings, although it is not a requirement.   

Completed applications should be returned to Deputy Clerk Peterson at cpeterso@parkridge.us or by fax, 847/318-5300 before Monday, August 14.  You will be contacted for a brief interview with the Mayor’s Advisory Board to discuss your interests and qualifications.  The Board recommends well-qualified candidates to the Mayor for appointment; if he accepts the recommendation, the candidate will be required to have a non-fingerprint criminal background check before receiving final approval of appointment by the City Council.  

Volunteers are an essential part of and a precious resource in our great City.  By donating your time and talent, you are contributing to the spirit of volunteerism within the community, making Park Ridge a better place to live and work.  The Mayor’s Advisory Board is chaired by Alderman Marc Mazzuca and members include Alderman Nicholas Milissis, Ald. Roger Shubert, and Ald. John Moran.
