City-wide Electricity Savings to Continue
The City of Park Ridge, a member of the North Shore Electricity Aggregation Consortium (NSEAC), is pleased to announce that the NSEAC locked in a rate for year two of a three-year agreement with MC Squared Energy Services (MC2) on March 15, 2013. Residents and small businesses participating in the City’s electrical aggregation program will pay 4.990 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh) for billing cycles June 1, 2013 through May 31, 2014, a slight increase from the current rate of 4.836 cents/kWh. The rate for year two meets the Consortium’s objective of obtaining rate pricing below five cents per kilowatt hour.
Residents currently enrolled with MC2 who wish to continue their savings do not need to do anything. Residents who are not enrolled with MC2 can expect to receive information by mail explaining how to participate in the program. Any resident who does not wish to participate will have 21 days from the postmark date of the notice to return their Opt-Out card.
A few enhancements were made to the NSEAC’s agreement with MC2. The early termination fee of $25 has now been eliminated. Additionally, residents are now able to enroll on-line 24/7 by logging on to the website below, choosing “Park Ridge”, and receive an immediate email confirming their enrollment. There is no longer the need for third party verification by phone. A one-step process to enroll in the green power program is also available.
