ComEd Communication Tools for Outages
Commonwealth Edison offers the most updated information on outage interruptions for the community and for the ComEd service territory at https://www.comed.com/_layouts/comedsp/OutageMap.aspx or by a ComEd mobile app that can be downloaded to an Iphone or Android. There is no charge for this tool and it’s an excellent way to get updated information during a storm or on a “blue sky” day.
Residents can also view and get updated information about their outages by visiting ComEd at www.comed.com and using Outage Map at the link above, or they can use their mobile device and text “OUT” to 26633 and they will provide text notifications when an outage was reported, cause of the outage and an estimated time of restoration, if known. Smart phone users can now report an outage on Facebook and stay connected with ComEd on their Facebook page for outage details and restoration updates during major storms.
