Park Ridge Youth Commission
The Park Ridge Youth Commission consists of at least twelve members: four adults, one liaison member from the City Council, one member from the Park Ridge Park District, and a minimum of four high school students. Its responsibilities are to provide a forum for public discussion of topics related to activities of youth; to act as an ombudsman for youth; to facilitate coordination for various community youth groups; and to submit recommendations on these matters to the City Council. The Youth Commission meets the fourth Thursday of the month at 6:00pm at City Hall.
The annual Dodgeball Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, February 4th at the Centennial Fitness Center. Registration begins at 6:00pm and games begin at 7:00pm. Pizza and t-shirts will be provided, while supplied last. The entry fee is one canned good, which will be donated to the Maine Township Food Pantry.
Park Ridge Police Department and Park Ridge Youth Commission will be taking the plunge into the COLD waters of Lake Michigan on Saturday, February 18th. All money raised through pledges and donations will directly benefit Special Olympics of Illinois. If you are interested in donating or joining the Park Ridge team, please click here.
Student Commissioners Needed!
High School students residing in Park Ridge are invited to become members of the Youth Commission. This City-sponsored commission meets the fourth Thursday of the month at 6:00pm at City Hall. Students, along with adult representatives, plan social events, organize service projects and learn about issues facing teens today.
