Community Emergency Response Team Class - Fall 2011
The City of Park Ridge will be hosting a Community Emergency Response Team class for the Fall of 2011. Interested persons should contact Officer Luehr for more information.
The class will be held Tuesday nights September 20 through October 18 from 6 p.m. until approximately 10 p.m. The final will commence on Saturday October 22 at 8 a.m. After successful completion of the CERT basic class participants may continue to participate as members of the Park Ridge Community Emergency Response Team (PRCERT) to be called upon during major incidents within the City.
The Park Ridge Community Emergency Response Team (PRCERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact the Park Ridge area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, PRCERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace and the City of Park Ridge following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. PRCERT may also be requested to assist local or regional agencies during major incidents and be able to assemble into small teams ready to be deployed.
