                  Fire Department Open House
 
The Park Ridge Fire Department will host its annual Open House on Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Fire Station #36 will be the site of this event, located at 1000 N. Greenwood Ave. in Park Ridge, at the corner of Oakton Street and Greenwood Ave. Parking is available on the East side of Greenwood in the parking lot of Resurrection Pavilion, 1001 N. Greenwood Ave.
 
This event provides a unique opportunity to not only meet and greet fire personnel, but also have the opportunity to climb on and investigate fire apparatus.
 
To showcase the Fire Department’s equipment and capabilities, a vehicle extrication will take place during Open House. There will be several displays of fire equipment and vehicles, including Comm 3, a Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) Division III asset, shared by Fire Departments throughout the area. Children can learn the fundamentals of fire safety at the Fire Safety House, an interactive exhibit built as an addition to the fire station.
 
Ronald McDonald will be visiting at 11:30 a.m. and an interactive exhibit to test your fire safety knowledge will be available all day
 
Admission is free. Refreshments will be provided by the Park Ridge Fire Department and served by the Metropolitan Emergency Support Services group (MESS Canteen).
