MAINTENANCE WORKER I

Full-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Public Works Department is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Maintenance Worker I. Duties include, but are not limited to, performing unskilled manual labor tasks in the maintenance and repair of municipal streets, grounds, sewer and water mains; operating trucks, miscellaneous power tools, and power mowers. This position requires working in various outdoor weather conditions (rain, snow, hot, and cold). Required work hours: Monday thru Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Must possess or obtain Commercial Driver's License ("CDL") Class "B". Starting annual salary is $46,861 plus benefits. PARKING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

Part-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Police Department is seeking qualified applicants for the part-time position of Parking Enforcement Officer. Duties include, but are not limited to, monitoring parking areas within the City; analyzing parking situations to determine if they are in compliance with established guidelines; issuing citations for improperly parked vehicles; acting as a bailiff for adjudication hearings; and assisting the non-emergency police desk. Excellent customer service skills are necessary. This position requires interaction with the general public, frequent mobility in-and-out of a motor vehicle, working in various outdoor weather conditions (rain, snow, hot, and cold), and operating computerized devices. Work hours include: weekdays (mornings & early evenings) and Saturdays. Approximately 20-29 hours per/week, not eligible for insurance benefits. Must have a valid State Driver's License. Starting hourly rate is $22.09. Position is open until filled.

FISCAL TECHNICIAN II

Full-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Finance Department is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Fiscal Technician II. Knowledge of basic accounting/bookkeeping, financial transactions, and Microsoft Excel is required. 1-2 years of customer service, data entry and cash handling preferred. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, reviewing and processing requests for purchases and converting requests to purchase orders, serving as primary back-up to the cashier, high volume customer contact and interaction with various City departments, and other duties as assigned. This position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or significant course work preferred. Required hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Starting annual salary is $39,794 + benefits. Position is available until filled.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, work of moderate to complex difficulty involving typing, filing, data entry, answering/directing phone calls, and interacting with the general public. Excellent customer service skills are a must. Strong written and organizational skills required. Experience in record keeping, customer service, and/or public safety administration a plus. High school diploma or G.E.D. required. Scheduled hours vary to any hour or day of the week. Majority of work hours will include: weekends, holidays, and nights. Starting hourly rate is $14.71.

Knowledge of financial transactions and experience balancing a daily cash drawer required. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred. Experience with MUNIS and utility billing is a plus. This position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. Duties include, but are not limited to, interacting with the general public, processing payments for parking tickets, vehicle licenses, pet licenses, building permits, utility bills, and other City receipts. Starting hourly rate is $20.41.

PLANS EXAMINER/INSPECTOR
On-Call/Part-Time
 

The City of Park Ridge is accepting applications for on-call Plans Examiner/Inspectors. The City is seeking on-call inspectors to perform structural, electrical, HVAC, Energy and plumbing inspections on an as needed basis. Candidates should have experience with the principles and practices of plumbing and electrical installations and in all aspects of residential and commercial construction. Prior experience with planning and inspections is required. The successful candidate will have knowledge of ICC codes and NEC electrical code inspection practices and procedures. State of Illinois licensed plumber is highly desirable and required for certain inspections. Starting hourly rate is $28.71.
