CITY ATTORNEY

Full-time

 

The City of Park Ridge, Illinois (37,480 population) is seeking a qualified candidate for the full-time position of City Attorney. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, serving as chief legal counsel for all departments for the City of Park Ridge, advising the City in legal proceedings, preparing and reviewing ordinances, resolutions and all legal documents, and acting as an advisor to various municipal boards and committees.

 

Successful candidate must understand and have demonstrated experience in the ability to research and review issues to determine if proposed actions, policies, and procedures are legally sound; provide advice on legal issues to City officials and City employees; approve bids, contracts, agreements, bonds, and legal forms for City contracts and procurements. Must have thorough knowledge of state and federal laws, Illinois municipal law and practice, Robert's Rules of Order, Illinois budget and appropriation statutes. Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must.

 

Position requires a Juris Doctorate from an accredited school of law, in addition to 8 to 10 years of legal experience in the field of municipal law. Potential candidates must be licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois, admitted to the Federal Trial Bar, and have substantial trial experiences. Annual salary range is $101,588 to $142,181 depending on qualifications and experience, plus benefits. Deadline for application is Tuesday, October 28, 2014.

FISCAL TECHNICIAN II/CASHIER

Part-time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Finance Department is accepting applications for the part-time position of Fiscal Technician II/Cashier in the event of a future vacancy. 1-2 years customer services and cash handling experience required. Knowledge of financial transactions and experience balancing a daily cash drawer required. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred. Experience with MUNIS and utility billing is a plus. This position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. Duties include, but are not limited to, interacting with the general public, processing payments for parking tickets, vehicle licenses, pet licenses, building permits, utility bills, and other City receipts. Starting hourly rate is $20.41.

PLANS EXAMINER/INSPECTOR
On-Call/Part-Time
 

The City of Park Ridge is accepting applications for on-call Plans Examiner/Inspectors. The City is seeking on-call inspectors to perform structural, electrical, HVAC, Energy and plumbing inspections on an as needed basis. Candidates should have experience with the principles and practices of plumbing and electrical installations and in all aspects of residential and commercial construction. Prior experience with planning and inspections is required. The successful candidate will have knowledge of ICC codes and NEC electrical code inspection practices and procedures. State of Illinois licensed plumber is highly desirable and required for certain inspections. Starting hourly rate is $28.71.

Under general supervision, performs duties associated with assuring the safety of children at designated street crossings. High school diploma or GED (desirable). Will train.
