EXECUTIVE OFFICER - POLICE DEPARTMENT
Full-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Police Department seeks qualified applicants for the position of Executive Officer.  Under the general supervision of the Police Chief, this non-sworn position will assist in planning, directing and managing the administrative operations of the Police Department.  The Executive Officer supervises the Records Bureau, Property/Evidence, Community Service, Front Desk, Community Strategies and Volunteer functions.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing and maintaining Department policies, general orders, and other directives; assisting with the procurement of materials, supplies and equipment necessary for the operation of the Department; managing employee training; conducting research and data analysis; writing and managing grant applications; assisting the Police Chief in the budget process; serving as the Public Information Officer through the issuance of news releases and use of social media; serving as liaison with the Human Resources Department coordinating personnel matters; serving as liaison to West Suburban Consolidated Dispatch Center; and coordinating inspections, internal investigations and accreditation.

Successful candidate must have thorough knowledge of police operations, management and supervision.  Excellent written, oral communication and computer skills are necessary.  This position requires frequent interaction with the general public and public officials.  Required work hours are 37.5 hours/week, Monday thru Friday.  Must be able to attend night meetings and be accessible 24/7.

Minimum requirements include: Bachelor's degree and 5-10 years of related experience.  Police command-level administrative experience is preferred.  Master's degree is desirable.  Possession of a valid driver's license is required.  Starting salary range is $112,000 - $118,000, plus benefits.  Position is open until filled.

POLICE RECORDS TECHNICIAN
Part-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Police Department seeks qualified applicants for the part-time position of Police Records Technician.

General Statement of Duties: Under general supervision, responsible for a wide variety of technical and clerical law enforcement support services related to processing, gathering, recording, maintaining, retrieving, reviewing and distributing law enforcement data and information; ensuring that records and information are accurate, clear and comprehensive for law enforcement personnel and the general public; researching and responding to internal and external requests (FOIA requests, records checks & traffic crash reports, etc.) in a timely manner; preparing court documents, processing expungements and performing other specialized administrative duties as assigned. Employees in this job class are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of highly sensitive information in compliance with established codes, rules and regulations.

Minimum requirements include: H.S. diploma/GED, 1 to 2 years of related experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).  Ability to obtain LEADS certification within 6 months of employment.  Familiarity with law enforcement, the Freedom of Information Act and Laserfiche preferred.  Must have exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy, be highly organized and able to work independently.  Excellent customer service skills, as well as strong written and oral communication skills are required.

General work hours include Monday thru Friday, 29 hours per week.  Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) eligible.  Starting hourly rate is $19.98.  Position is open until filled.

HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST
Full-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Administrative Services Department seeks qualified applicants for the full-time position of Human Resources Specialist.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing support in all areas of human resources, including data and records management, recruitment, onboarding, workers' compensation and employee benefits.  Additionally, this position assists in ensuring compliance with employment related laws and City policies, including tracking FMLA and PEDA, records retention, confidentiality (HIPAA), and FOIA requests.  Duties also include providing administrative support functions in the delivery of human resource programs and services including personnel file maintenance and general office functions.

Minimum requirements include: Associate's Degree with human resources or office management related course work, 3-5 years of progressively responsible administrative work in a human resources environment, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).  Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality is required.  Must be detail-oriented and be able to provide timely, professional customer service.  Must have a valid Illinois driver's license. 

General work hours are Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Starting salary range is $55,000 to $60,000 depending on qualifications, plus benefits.  Position is open until filled.
