One year certificate from an accredited college or technical school with a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience required. Supervising Electrician preferred. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, planning and implementing the emergency management program for city-wide preparedness and response to natural or man-made emergencies, including terrorism. Coordinates various internal and external resources to integrate and prioritize efforts necessary to respond appropriately to the nature and magnitude of the emergency.

The City is seeking reserve inspectors to perform structural, electrical, HVAC, Energy and plumbing inspections on an as needed basis. Candidates should have experience with the principles and practices of plumbing and electrical installations and in all aspects of residential and commercial construction. Prior experience with planning and inspections is required. The successful candidate will have knowledge of ICC codes and NEC electrical code inspection practices and procedures. State of Illinois licensed plumber is highly desirable and required for certain inspections. Starting hourly rate is $28.71. Position availiable until filled.
