The City of Park Ridge's Police Department is seeking qualified applicants for the part-time position of Police Records Technician.

General Statement of Duties: Under general supervision, responsible for a wide variety of technical and clerical law enforcement support services related to processing, gathering, recording, maintaining, retrieving, reviewing and distributing law enforcement data and information; ensuring that records and information are accurate, clear and comprehensive for law enforcement personnel and the general public; researching and responding to internal and external requests (FOIA requests, records checks, and traffic crash reports, etc.) in a timely manner; preparing court documents, processing expungements and performing other specialized administrative duties as assigned.  Employees in this job class are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of highly sensitive information in compliance with established codes, rules and regulations.

Minimum requirements include: H.S. diploma/GED, 1 to 2 years of related experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).  Ability to obtain LEADS certification within 6 months of employment.  Familiarity with law enforcement, the Freedom of Information Act and Laserfiche preferred.  Must have exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy, be highly organized and able to work independently.  Excellent customer service skills, as well as strong written and oral communication skills are required. 

General work hours include Monday through Friday, 29 hours per week.  Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) eligible.  Starting hourly rate is $19.98.  Position is open until filled.

The City of Park Ridge's Community Preservation & Development Department is seeking applicants for a part-time Plans Examiner/Inspector. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conducting plan reviews for compliance with municipal building & zoning codes; performing inspections for structural, mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing installations in new construction and/or remodels of commercial & residential structures; responding to building-related inquiries and resolving complaints. A background in grading, engineering, surveying or stormwater management is desirable.


This position requires frequent interaction with contractors, business owners, and homeowners. Excellent customer service skills required. General knowledge of permitting, zoning, and building preferred. Minimum requirements include: 3 to 5 years of related experience, valid State Driver's License, and H.S. diploma/GED. ICC certifications preferred, but not required. Flexible work schedule: Monday - Saturday. Average work hours range from 25 to 29 hours per week. Starting hourly rate is $28.71. Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) eligible.  Position is open until filled.

Under general supervision, performs duties associated with assuring the safety of children at designated street crossings. High school diploma or GED (desirable). Will train.
