ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Part-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Community Preservation & Development Department is seeking applicants for the part-time position of Administrative Assistant. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, answering/directing phone calls, scheduling inspections, interfacing with the general public, data entry & data management, developing & preparing reports, and responding to internal and external requests in a timely manner. Must be detailed-oriented, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Minimum requirements include: HS diploma/GED, 3-4 years of experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access). Experience working with building permits, building terminology and/or zoning preferred, but not required. Excellent customer service skills required.  General work hours include: Monday - Friday, 20hrs/week. Position may require evening hours to attend and to take minutes for City Commissions and/or Committees. Starting hourly rate is $21.43. Position is open until filled.

PARKING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

Part-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Police Department is seeking applicants for the part-time position of Parking Enforcement Officer. Duties include, but are not limited to, monitoring parking areas within the City; analyzing parking situations to determine if they are in compliance with established guidelines; issuing citations for improperly parked vehicles; acting as a bailiff for adjudication hearings; and assisting the non-emergency police desk. Excellent customer service skills are necessary. This position requires interaction with the general public, frequent mobility in-and-out of a motor vehicle, working in various weather conditions (rain, snow, hot, and cold), and operating computerized devices. General work hours include: weekdays & Saturdays, 20-29 hours per week. Average weekly work hours range from 20 to 29. Must have a valid State Driver's License. Starting hourly rate is $22.09. BUILDING OFFICIAL / ADMINISTRATOR

Full-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Community Preservation & Development Department is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Building Official/Administrator This position serves as the primary contact on building permitting, building plan review, and inspections. Duties include, but are not limited to, reviewing building plans for compliance with building and zoning codes, monitoring the status of building permits, supervising plans examiner/inspectors and consultants, resolving building complaints, updating building codes, meeting with residents, assisting applicants with building projects, and managing the plan review process with other departments.

 

Requirements: 6+ years of experiences in the building trade or building regulation organization; working knowledge of ICC codes; ICC Certified Building Official and ICC certifications in electrical, plumbing, building, and mechanical plan examiner and inspector. Bachelor's degree or equivalent form an accredited college or technical school with an education focus in construction, technology or engineering. Experience in stormwater drainage and ICC Master Code professional preferred. Must be able to handle multiple projects at the same time. Supervisory experience required. Excellent customer services skills are a must. Salary range for position is $65,465 to $91,650 (mid-point $78,559), plus benefits. Position is open until filled.

PAYROLL SPECIALIST

Full-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Finance Department is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Payroll Specialist. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing and processing the bi-weekly payroll for approximately 350 employees; balancing payroll withholdings and sending remittances for withholding to various entities; ensuring accuracy in payroll system; reconciling flexible spending account disbursements; calculating retroactive pay adjustments for general increases and union contracts; preparing police and fire pension reports; and responding to payroll inquires. This position requires strong attention to detail.  Excellent communication skills are a must. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products required. High School diploma or GED required. Associates degree in Accounting preferred with minimum 2-3 years of progressively responsible payroll related experience; CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferred. ADP experience strongly preferred. Salary midpoint for position is $50,639 (starting salary +/- depending on experience and qualifications), plus benefits. Required work hours include Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Position is open until filled.

The City of Park Ridge's Police Department is seeking applicants for the part-time position of Police Information Technician in the event of a future vacancy. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, work of moderate to complex difficulty involving typing, filing, data entry, answering/directing phone calls, and interacting with the general public. LEADS certification and/or familiarity with law enforcement preferred. Excellent customer service skills are a must. Strong written and organizational skills required. Experience in record keeping, customer service, and/or public safety administration a plus. High school diploma or G.E.D. required. Scheduled hours vary to any hour or day of the week. Majority of work hours will include: weekends, holidays, and nights. Starting hourly rate is $14.71.

PLANS EXAMINER/INSPECTOR
On-Call/Part-Time
 

The City of Park Ridge is accepting applications for on-call Plans Examiner/Inspectors. The City is seeking on-call inspectors to perform structural, electrical, HVAC, Energy and plumbing inspections on an as needed basis. Candidates should have experience with the principles and practices of plumbing and electrical installations and in all aspects of residential and commercial construction. Prior experience with planning and inspections is required. The successful candidate will have knowledge of ICC codes and NEC electrical code inspection practices and procedures. State of Illinois licensed plumber is highly desirable and required for certain inspections. Starting hourly rate is $28.71.
