UTILITY BILLING SPECIALIST

Full-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Finance Department is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Utility Billing Specialist. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, processing utility billing and other financial transactions; reconciling utility billing accounts; processing utility billing accounts receivables; providing utility billing customer service in person and over the phone; maintaining utility billing and meter reading records/documents; preparing final water bills for move outs; and entering meter reads. Must be detailed-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment. This position involves a lot of interaction with the general public and is very customer focused. Minimum requirements include: HS diploma/GED, 3 to 4 years of related experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access). Excellent customer service and oral communication skills required. General knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including their application to billings and collections required. Typical work hours include: Monday thru Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 37.5 hours/week. Starting salary is $43,091 plus benefits. Position is open until filled.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Part-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Community Preservation & Development Department is seeking applicants for the part-time position of Administrative Assistant. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, answering/directing phone calls, scheduling inspections, interfacing with the general public, data entry & data management, developing & preparing reports, and responding to internal & external requests in a timely manner. Must be detailed-oriented, organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Minimum requirements include: HS diploma/GED, 3 to 4 years of related experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access). Experience working with building permits, building terminology and/or zoning preferred, but not required. Excellent customer service skills required. General work hours include: Monday thru Friday, 20 to 25 hours per week. Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) eligible. BUILDING MAINTENANCE PERSON

Full-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Public Works Department is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Building Maintenance Person. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing technical tasks involving the maintenance of City-owned buildings and grounds; inspecting heating, air conditioning, ventilation, hot water tank(s) and valves on a daily basis; performing a variety of semi-skilled tasks involving painting, carpentry, sheet metal, electrical, HVAC, minor plumbing, and other custodial duties; identifying and correcting building & grounds maintenance problems and anticipating intermediate and long range building & grounds maintenance needs; maintaining inventories; storing equipment and supplies; supervising contracted cleaning and custodial work; assisting with snow removal; setting up rooms for City meetings/events; arranging for outside contractors/vendors to perform certain maintenance tasks, and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

 

Minimum 3 years of building maintenance experience and/or related experience required. HVAC and electric experience preferred. Must possess or obtain Commercial Driver's License ("CDL") Class "B". Standard work hours include: Monday thru Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., 37.5 hours/week, with the possibility of additional work hours for urgent facility matters. Starting annual salary for position is $56,956 (eligible for step increase after 6 months of employment)plus benefits. Position is open until filled.

ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES SUPERVISOR

Full-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Police Department is seeking applicants for the full-time exempt position of Administrative Services Supervisor. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing community programs within the Administrative Services Division and coordinating staffing and traffic control for special events (i.e. holiday parades, 4th of July fireworks, Concerts in the Park, and National Night Out); supervising non-sworn Community Services Officers, Parking Enforcement Officers, Evidence/Property Technician, Police Information Technicians, Crossing Guards, and volunteers; serving as the Quartermaster for sworn officers; assisting with the adjudication process, vehicle license-related issues, solicitor issues, and animal control. Position serves as back-up to the Deputy Police Chief - Administrative Services and assists with various administrative tasks and projects. This position frequently interfaces with the general public and other City departments.

 

Minimum requirements include: 3 to 5 years of related experience, Bachelor's degree, proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), valid State Driver's License, and the ability to obtain LEADS certification within 6 months of employment. 2 to 3 years of supervisory experience preferred. Typical work hours include: Monday thru Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., 37.5 hours/week. Salary range for the position is $65,465 - $91,650 (salary midpoint is $78,559), plus benefits. The City of Park Ridge's Public Works Department is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Pump Station Operator. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, operating water plant controls and equipment; adjusting system to anticipated demand; maintaining control panel and equipment; collecting water samples; assisting with electrical and plumbing repairs; and changing chlorine cylinders ad required. Minimum 2 to 4 years of related experience preferred. Ability to obtain EPA Class C and/or D State Certified Operator License within 1 year of employment. The City of Park Ridge's Community Preservation & Development Department is seeking applicants for seasonal Plans Examiner/Inspector positions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conducting plan reviews for compliance with municipal building & zoning codes; performing inspections for structural, mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing installations in new construction and/or remodels of commercial & residential structures; responding to building-related inquiries and resolving complaints. This position requires frequent interaction with contractors, business owners, and homeowners. Excellent customer service skills required. General knowledge of permitting, zoning, and building preferred. Minimum requirements include: 3 to 5 years of related experience, valid State Driver's License, and HS diploma/GED. ICC certifications preferred, but not required. Flexible work schedule: Monday - Saturday. Average weekly work hours range up to 37.5hrs/wk, plus eligibility for overtime during busy seasons (annual work hours will not exceed 1,000). Starting hourly rate is $28.71.
