ENGINEERING TECHNICAN

Full-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Public Works Department is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Engineering Technician. Duties include, but are not limited to, inspection and evaluation of various City infrastructure such as streets, sidewalks, and alleys; development of project plans and specifications for the replacement and repair of City infrastructure, implementation and management of capital projects, including contractor management, resident notification, and project tracking; assisting with other project inspections as needed, including private development and operations construction activities. Agency knowledge (City, state, and federal) related to regulations, standards and enforcement is preferred. Familiarity with the City's Geographical Information System (GIS) is preferred in order to gather, review, and enter data for asset management and project implementation. Knowledge of plan review, grading, stormwater, construction inspection, and computer skills is preferred. This position requires working in various outdoor weather conditions (rain, snow, hot, and cold).

Minimum requirements include: Associate's degree and/or two to three years of experience in engineering, surveying, engineering technology or a closely related field, and a valid State Driver's license. Required work hours are Monday - Friday, 7.5 hours per day. Overtime should be expected. Starting annual salary is $55,303 plus benefits. Position is open until filled.

MAINTENANCE WORKER I

The City of Park Ridge's Public Works Department is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Maintenance Worker I. Duties include, but are not limited to, performing unskilled manual labor tasks in the maintenance and repair of municipal streets, grounds, sewer, and water mains and operating trucks, miscellaneous power tools, and power mowers. This position requires working in various outdoor weather conditions (rain, snow, hot, and cold).

Required hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Overtime should be expected. Must possess or obtain Commercial Driver's License ("CDL") Class "B". Starting annual salary is $50,478 plus benefits. Position is open until filled.

PLANS EXAMINER / INSPECTOR

Full-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Community Preservation & Development Department is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Plans Examiner / Inspector. This position serves as the primary plan reviewer and inspector for all building and engineering permit activities related to plumbing. Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to, conducting plan reviews for compliance with municipal building and zoning codes; performing inspections for structural, mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing installations in new construction and/or remodels of commercial and residential structures; responding to building-related inquiries and resolving complaints.

This position requires frequent interaction with contractors, business owners, and homeowners. Excellent customer services skills required. General knowledge of permitting, zoning, and building preferred. Minimum requirements include: an Illinois Plumbing License; 3 to 5 years of related experience, valid State Driver's License, and H.S. diploma / GED. ICC certifications preferred, but not required. Certification as an Illinois Plumbing Inspector is desirable. Typical work hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Starting annual salary is $55,992 plus benefits. ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES MANAGER

Full-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge seeks motivated applicants for the professional position of Administrative Services Manager. This position reports to the City Manager and has a dual focus, Human Resources Manager and Strategic Project Management.

This role is responsible for the overall management of the City's full-service human resources department. Experience in employee and labor relations, specifically with multiple public sector unions, with regard to contract negotiations and grievance procedures is required. Knowledge of workers compensation, wage and hour laws, FMLA, and pension administration, as well as the ability to coach and develop employees throughout the organization, including internal training initiatives, is necessary. This role will be also be responsible for benefits management.

In addition, the Administrative Services Manager assists in the implementation of the City's Strategic Plan; provides project management oversight and accountability for organization wide projects to include: visioning, securing City Council authority, contracting, expenditure tracking, and post completion review. The manager serves as the organization's Central Service Administrator to identify and implement organization wide systems and processes to improve efficiency, utilization, and consistency. This role may be required to serve as the Acting City Manager and attend evening meetings to present data and information to City Council.

Minimum requirements include: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Public or Business Administration, Psychology or related field, eight years of progressively responsible municipal experience, including five years supervisory experience. SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CLRP, IPMA-CP, or other professional human resources certification required. Must have previous experience in public sector human resources administration and in all facets of project management. Master's Degree preferred.

General work hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Starting salary is $113,025 +/- depending on qualifications. Application deadline is August 30, 2019.
