CIVIL ENGINEER

Full-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Public Works Department seeks qualified applicants for the full-time position of Civil Engineer. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, designing plans and specifications for public works projects; conducting plan reviews for public and private development projects; using CAD system to check design plans prior to finalization; interacting with contractors and consultants on various aspects of engineering problems in proposed development plans; providing on-site engineering expertise during construction phases; ensuring contractors and sub-contractors adhere to design plans; and participating in conducting final surveys.

Minimum requirements include: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or other closely related engineering field, Professional Engineer (PE) designation, and 5 years of experience. Strong knowledge of CAD, GIS systems, and agency permitting requirements (MWRD, IEPA, IDOT, etc.) required. Experience in designing infrastructure improvements to storm water management, sewer systems, traffic engineering, and streets required. Work hours include Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Starting salary range is $68,000 - $80,000 (depending on  experience and qualifications), plus benefits. POLICE INFORMATION TECHNICIAN

Part-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Police Department is seeking applications for the part-time position of Police Information Technician. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: serving as a non-emergency police desk attendant, work of moderate to complex difficulty involving typing, filing, data entry, answering/directing phone calls, and interacting with the general public. LEADS certification and/or familiarity with law enforcement preferred. Excellent customer service skills are a must. Strong written and organizational skills required. Experience in record keeping, customer service, and/or public safety administration a plus. High school diploma or G.E.D. required. Scheduled hours vary to any hour or day of the week. Majority of work hours will include weekends, holiday, and nights. Starting hourly salary is $14.71. Position is open until filled.

PERMIT, INSPECTIONS, & LICENSING ASSISTANT

Full-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Community Preservation & Development Department is seeking applications for the full-time position of Permit, Inspections, & Licensing Assistant. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: coordinating building permit applications, tracking permits, following up with applicants, miscellaneous plan review, securing necessary documents prior to permit issuance, reviewing real estate transfer applications, providing information to property owners, contractors, and developers regarding the permit and inspection process, and other special tasks as assigned by the Director of Community Preservation and Development.

Minimum requirements include: HS diploma/GED and three years of experience reading and interpreting construction plans and building codes. The ideal candidate should be familiar with the ICC family of codes, zoning regulations and terminology, and can communicate effectively and tactfully orally and in writing.

General work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Starting annual salary is $48,000 plus benefits. Position is open until filled.

FISCAL TECHNICIAN II

Full-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Finance Department is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Fiscal Technician II. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing quality customer service to the general public and other City departments; processing payments for a variety of municipal transactions, accounts payable, vendor maintenance, billing and collections. Ability to process high volume transactions and balance a cash drawer required.

Minimum requirements include: HS Diploma/GED and a minimum of three years related experience required. Applicants with customer service, bookkeeping, cash handling, and/or municipal experience preferred. Experience with MUNIS ERP software a plus. Attention to detail, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and team building skills are necessary. This position requires a high level of accuracy, the ability to learn software applications quickly, and the ability to multi-task. Required work hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Starting annual salary is $39,794 plus benefits. Position is open until filled.

CROSSING GUARD

Part-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Police Department seeks qualified applicants for the part-time position of Crossing Guard. Under general supervision, performs duties associated with assuring the safety of children at designated street crossings. High school diploma or GED (desirable). Will train.
