FISCAL TECHNICIAN II

Full-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Finance Department is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Fiscal Technician II. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing quality customer service to the general public and other City departments; processing payments for a variety of municipal transactions, accounts payable, vendor maintenance, billing and collections. Ability to process high volume transactions and balance a cash drawer is required.

Minimum requirements include: HS diploma/GED and a minimum of three years related experience. Applicants with customer service, bookkeeping, cash handling and/or municipal experience preferred. Experience with MUNIS ERP software a plus. Attention to detail, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and team building skills are necessary. This position requires a high level of accuracy, the ability to learn software applications quickly, and the ability to multi-task. Required work hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Starting annual salary is $39,794 plus benefits. Position is open until filled.

PLANNER

Full-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Community Preservation & Development Department is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Planner. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Serving as staff liaison to Zoning Board of Appeals and Historic Preservation Commission
  • Reviewing building permits and business licenses for compliance with the zoning ordinance
  • Investigating zoning complaints and enforcing the zoning ordinance
  • Processing zoning variance and subdivision applications
  • Providing support on a wide range of planning and administrative activities as assigned, including: map and text amendments to the zoning ordinance and occasional support to the Planning & Zoning Commission.

A successful candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Customer service skills and the ability to tactfully handle adversarial situations at public meetings and in the field is also required. AICP is preferred.

General work hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Starting salary range is $60,000 - $75,000 depending on experience and qualifications, plus benefits. Position available until filled.

POLICE INFORMATION TECHNICIAN

Part-Time

 

The City of Park Ridge's Police Department is seeking applications for the part-time position of Police Information Technician. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: serving as a non-emergency police desk attendant, work of moderate to complex difficulty involving typing, filing, data entry, answering/directing phone calls, and interacting with the general public. LEADS certification and/or familiarity with law enforcement preferred. Excellent customer service skills are a must. Strong written and organizational skills required. Experience in record keeping, customer service, and/or public safety administration a plus. High school diploma or G.E.D. required. Scheduled hours vary to any hour or day of the week. Majority of work hours will include weekends, holiday, and nights. Starting hourly salary is $14.71. Position is open until filled.

Under general supervision, performs duties associated with assuring the safety of children at designated street crossings. High school diploma or GED (desirable). Will train.
