Horner Hustle - Steps for a cure; a world without pancreatic cancer; 8 am - 10 am
Hodges Park; registration begins at 7 am / Run & Walk

Please join the Horner, Dunne, Balducci, and Pietryla families as they partner with Project Purple to host the first 5K Horner Hustle Fun Run/Walk in Park Ridge, IL, raising funds for early detection and, ultimately, a cure for pancreatic cancer in memory of Mike Horner (of Edison Park) whose life was ended too early due to pancreatic cancer.  All proceeds from this event will benefit Project Purple and their mission of a world without pancreatic cancer. Learn more about Project Purple at ww.projectpurple.org.  Please note that some streets, north of Devon and west of Canfield will be affected.  Those include Vine, Albion, Cleveland, Arthur, and Crescent.  We apologize in advance for any temporary inconvenience.

 

Farmers Market; 7 am - 1 pm; on Prairie, between Garden and Main
At the market, you'll find a great selection of fruits, vegetables and other food products are available every week. Browse the vendors, and be sure to check back for the latest events and programs offered. The market is open every Saturday through October, rain or shine.

 

Park Ridge Historical Society Bike Tour 2018; 9 am - 11 am
The tour begins at The History Center located at 721 N. Prospect Avenue.  Questions?  Please call 847/696-1973. 

The Park Ridge Historical Society's Bike Tour of Catalog Homes will highlight a number of “Sears houses” along with a few other noteworthy houses. The route is about one mile long and will last about 90 minutes while riding at a leisurely pace. The tour will stop at each home to hear a description. The suggested donation is $10 per person.  Space is limited to 20.  Pre-reservation required.
Included in the tour will be a stop where Grant Wood lived, the world famous painter of "American Gothic.”  The home was designated as a Park Ridge City landmark in 2014.  The tour will also include a stop at the home where the actor, Harrison Ford lived (Han Solo & Indiana Jones) lived before he became a famous movie star. Reservations are required:  go to the website www.parkridgehistorycenter.org or call 847-696-1973 to leave a message. A donation of $10.00 is suggested.  Light refreshments will be served.
