Hit and Run Incidents

On Sunday 12/31/17 shortly after 9:00 A.M. the Park Ridge Police Department was alerted to a White Tow Truck in the 2300 W. Block of Oakton St., which had lost control and struck a parkway tree.  Park Ridge Police units responded to the area, and were unable to locate the vehicle, which had left the area with a tree limb wedged in the tow apparatus of the truck.

Following the initial report, Park Ridge Police received numerous reports of hit and run crashes involving the tow truck, which is described as a white, newer model Dodge, standard tow vehicle, with a Triple A motor club emblem on the cab doors, being driven by a Male White, or Hispanic  driver.  No  company, operator or plate information is known at this time.  The tow vehicle struck a total of 14 vehicles in the City of Park Ridge as it traveled East on Oakton St. and Southeast on Northwest Highway into Chicago.

Further incidents of hit and run crashes occurred in the City of Chicago, and the tow truck was sighted in Des Plaines and on the I-294 Tollway after the incidents reported to and being investigated by the Park Ridge Police Department.  Investigators are currently following-up on all leads and reviewing traffic camera and tollway video to try and identify the vehicle.  If you have any information on this tow truck, please contact the Park Ridge Police Department at 847 318-5252.
