TREES: Your Community’s Best Investment

Mayor Maloney and City Attorney Adam Simon participated in the Chicago Region Trees Initiative video, TREES: Your Community’s Best Investment.  The goal of the video is to spread awareness of the importance of pro-active tree maintenance to increase the benefits trees provide to the community.  The Park Ridge Forestry Division continues to serve on the CRTI’s Tree Risk Assessment and Management work group.  This group includes representatives from county, state and federal agencies, ComEd, the Morton Arboretum and local tree care companies and advocacy organizations.  It is one of six work groups that specifically focuses on identifying the biggest risks to Chicago area trees including pests and disease, bio-mechanical tree failure, climate change and developing strategies to mitigate these potential threats.
