Park Ridge Police are Pleased to Announce the Promotion of Sergeant Gregory Taylor
On Friday, January 4, 2013, Officer Gregory Taylor was promoted to the position of Sergeant in a ceremony at City Hall. Sergeant Taylor was hired by the Park Ridge Police Department on April 11, 1988. During his career, in addition to patrol officer, he has served as a Field Training Officer, Detective, Motorcycle Patrol Officer, Major Traffic Investigator, Department Evidence Technician and was assigned to the northwest suburban Major Case Assistance Team as an Evidence Technician. Sergeant Taylor will be assigned to a patrol division shift and will assist a Commander in supervising the patrol officers assigned to that shift.
Sergeant Taylor follows in the footsteps of his father, James R. Taylor, who rose to the ranks of Chief of Police for the Normal, IL Police Department and served as the president for the Illinois Association of Chief’s of Police in 1992. Sergeant Taylor also has a brother who is a police officer in Palatine, IL.
