Park Ridge Police Department Continue Focus on Traffic Safety on Cumberland

Over the past year, The Park Ridge Police Department responded to eight (8) motor vehicle crashes near Cumberland Avenue and Crescent Avenue. Stop sign violations were noted as the main cause for these crashes. In an effort to enhance safety in this area, the department, working with the City’s Engineering staff, made physical changes to the signage in this area. The area now has stops signs erected, back to back on Cumberland and have added larger signs with flashing lights on Crescent. These changes were made to increase visibility and to help reduce the potential for vehicle crashes. That being said, we depend on motorists to drive safely, pay attention to their surroundings and heed all traffic control devices. Working together, we can make a difference to reduce motor vehicle crashes and the injuries associated with them.
