Department Personnel

The police department consists of 54 full-time sworn officers, 2 full-time clerical staff; 1 Records Supervisor, along with 3 part-time Records  Techs;1 Community Service Officer Manager, 6 Community Service Officers,1 Property Management Technician,  3 Parking Enforcement Officers, 6 part-time InfoTechs; and 1 part-time Social Worker.

Specialized training is provided to sworn officers in such areas as Crime Scene Evidence Technician, Field Training & Juvenile Officer, Major Crash Unit and Criminal Investigator. Other opportunities in the department are School Resource Officer, Traffic and Bike Patrol Officer, Honor Guard, Crime Prevention/Community Relations, Accreditation and Emergency Services Team.

The Park Ridge Police Department's Honor Guard participates in the annual police memorial service. Police Department chaplains organize and conduct this remembrance service which honors fallen police officers, as well as past Park Ridge Police Officers.

The Honor Guard averages 8-12 appearances a year, including Police Memorial ceremonies, National Night Out ceremonies, and parades.  The Honor Guard is currently comprised of the following 7 Department members:  Deputy Chief Duane Mellema, Sgt. Mike Luehr, Ofc. Kristen Abbinante, Ofc. Dave Cacioppo, Ofc. Len Garcia, Ofc. Tim McEwen, and Ofc. Steve Stopka.
