Lost Pet

If you have lost a pet, you can call the police department, 847-318-5252, 24 hours a day, to report your missing pet. We take all the information necessary to ensure that your pet is safely returned to you if it is found.

If you find a lost animal, check for any tags. If there is a name and number on the tag, you can contact the owner of the pet directly. If you cannot locate an owner, you may call the police department and we will dispatch an officer to pick up the animal. The animal is then impounded at the City's contracted animal hospital until an owner claims it.
