Police Investigate Suspicious Subject and Stolen Car

  
On October 24, 2017 at approximately 8:00 pm, Park Ridge police officers responded to the area of the 800 block of Broadway for the report of a suspicious person. A resident reported that a suspect tried a door handle to a home in that area and ran away.

Over the next few hours, the police department received a number of phone calls regarding a suspicious person in this area. Each time officers responded they were unable to locate anyone matching the description given. At approximately 8:23 a resident in the 700 block of Seminary called to report an unknown subject in their home. The subject ran away when confronted by the homeowner and was unable to be located by officers.

At approximately 11:00 pm, while officers were in the area looking for the subject, a resident in the 1600 block of Devon Avenue called 911 to report that an unknown subject entered her unlocked front door and was in her home. The subject was in the home for a few minutes ultimately leaving with the homeowner’s car keys. The resident observed the subject enter her vehicle and left westbound on Devon. Officers checked the area with negative results.

The subject is described as a male, medium complection, approximately 25 years of age, 6’00’ to 6’02”, wearing a black knit hat, gray hooded sweatshirt and a backpack. The vehicle is described as 2013 Silver Volvo with an Illinois registration beginning with V26.
