Sixth Ward Alderman Delivers Resignation
At the May 7, 2012 City Council meeting, City Clerk Henneman reported that she had received a letter of resignation from Sixth Ward Alderman, Thomas A. Bernick. The letter stated that with regret, he was resigning as Alderman of the 6th Ward, effective May 7, 2012 at 6:59 p.m.
Mayor Schmidt encouraged any resident who is interested serving as the Sixth Ward Alderman to submit their resume to the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall no later than May 31. He will appoint a committee consisting of residents from the Sixth Ward who will review the resumes, interview the applicants, and provide their recommendation to the Mayor. The Mayor intends to submit the name of the candidate to the Council for approval no later than June 18 so that the vacant seat can be filled.
