Two Suspects Charged in Area Restaurant Pickpocketing Enterprise
On July 23, 2013 Northbrook Police arrested two individuals who are believed to be responsible for an area wide criminal pickpocketing enterprise. Detectives from the Northbrook Police Department worked closely with detectives from the Park Ridge Police Department after the arrest to determine the extent of the operation. The investigation revealed that the two individuals were part of an elaborate, on-going financial crimes enterprise whose members intentionally committed thefts by way of pickpocketing, typically from patrons at local restaurants. The investigation showed that these suspects committed numerous thefts from restaurant patrons including thefts in Park Ridge on May 22, 2013 and July 13, 2013. The proceeds of the thefts, specifically credit cards and personal identifying information, were used to purchase gift cards and electronics from retail establishments.
The first suspect, Star L. Davis F/B DOB 07/16/1969 was charged with one count of
Organizer of a Continuing Financial Crimes Enterprise, a class X felony as well as several counts of theft and theft by deception.
The second suspect, Tracy Musiala, F/W DOB 09/21/1990 was charged with one count of
Continuing Financial Crimes Enterprise, a class 1 Felony.
These arrests demonstrate law enforcement’s continued willingness to work together and the resultant effectiveness at solving multijurisdictional crimes.
