Update: Park Ridge Police: 200 Block of Summit Death Investigation

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
On February 9, 2012, at approximately 2:18 am, the Park Ridge Police responded to a call of a person down in the 200 block of south Summit Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male subject lying on the ground near a parking lot and the tracks. The scene was secured and the body transported to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. The cause of death was not immediately apparent and a death investigation was initiated.
On February 10, 2012, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office classified the death as a homicide. Specific findings from the Medical Examiner will be forthcoming.
The victim has been identified as Henry W. Nowak, 39 years of age, from Chicago.
The death investigation has now been reclassified as a homicide investigation. The investigation is being coordinated by Park Ridge Police Investigators who are being assisted by the northwest suburban Major Case Assistance Team (MCAT).
