UPDATED Friday 04/19 Noon - City Wide Flooding
Public Works staff is continuing to monitor the Des Plaines River levels and conditions in the areas along Riverside Drive. Riverside Drive remains closed from Sibley to Touhy in both directions as pumping operations continue. Pumps continue operating in the Manor and Mayfield areas.
Due to the flooding in Des Plaines, Oakton is now closed at Riverside Drive. Park Ridge Police have barricades set at Dee Road and motorists are being diverted.
The following areas continue to have significant flooding and do not show signs of immediate relief.
Streets: The following streets are currently impassable:
- Riverside Drive between Sibley and Touhy
- Oakton at Riverside Drive (Total closure)
- Dee Road northbound from Devon to Touhy (Southbound lanes are open)
Beginning Monday, April 22nd, the City of Park Ridge’s waste hauler, Republic Services (ARC Disposal), will be collecting normal refuse and recycling as well as flood related items on the regularly scheduled collection day. Only normal and flood related items will be collected.
Materials should be placed curbside, or in the alley, where your normal collection occurs.
Yardwaste collection has been suspended for two weeks so that these trucks can be used to collect flood debris.
Flood related items will be collected for the next two weeks only. Normal collection will resume on Monday, May 6, 2013.
