Arrest in Walgreens Pharmacy Robbery

On Dec 15, 2016 the Walgreens store, located at 800 Devon Ave, was the victim of a robbery in where the robber demanded certain pharmaceuticals from the pharmacy staff with a threat of violence. Officers and Detectives from the Park Ridge Police Department responded and conducted their initial investigation. While talking with pharmacy staff it was learned that the robber had handled certain merchandise prior to going to the counter and announcing the robbery. A Park Ridge Detective, who is also an Evidence Technician, was able to locate that merchandise and transported it to the police station for further analysis. The Detective was able to locate and isolate a fingerprint on that merchandise and a copy of the fingerprint was sent to the crime lab. The crime lab was able to process that fingerprint evidence and identified the robber in this case as, SPENCER PLAXICO, Male/Black, 24 years of age, of 8330 South Lafayette in Chicago.  Spencer Plaxico has a substantial criminal history for similar offenses and is currently on Parole.

Detectives from the Park Ridge Police Department, with the assistance of Officers from the Chicago Police Departments 009th District, were able to locate and arrest Spencer Plaxico for this and similar offenses. Spencer Plaxico is currently in Cook County Jail being held on a $250,000 bond. Plaxico was charged with (1) count of Armed Robbery for the Park Ridge Offense. He will appear in Court on January 30, 2017 in response to these charges.  Spencer Plaxico is suspected in similar robberies and Detectives from the Park Ridge Police Department are working with other agencies on those cases.
