Community Food Pantries Need Your Support

Many families in our community are struggling to make ends meet and put food on their table as a result of COVID-19.  There is a callout for community support during this unprecedented time.  Here is how you can help.   


Donations can be brought directly to Maine Township Hall and placed in the bin located in front of the garage area.  Monetary donations can be mailed directly to Maine Township which is located at 1700 Ballard Road, Park Ridge, IL 60068.  Please Call the Maine Township Office at 847/297-2510 with any questions. 

The following is a list of items most needed by th the food pantry.  Please do not donate large food service size cans.  Here is the Maine Township Food Pantry's wish list:  

  • Macaroni & Cheese
  • Cereal
  • Juice, Juice Boxes, Kool Aid
  • Canned Tuna, Chicken, or Salmon
  • Plain Rice, Rice-A-Roni
  • Canned Fruit, Apple Sauce
  • Crackers
  • Instant Potatoes, Canned White Potatoes
  • Peanut Butter, Jelly (18 oz. maximum size)
  • Bisquick, Pancake Mix, Syrup
  • Prepared Meals – Canned Pasta Meals, Boxed Meals
  • Desserts – Cake, Cookie, & Brownie Mixes, Jell-O, Pudding, Cookies, Frosting
  • Condiments – Ketchup, Mayonaise, Mustard, Pickles
  • Beverages – Coffee, Tea, Hot Cocoa
  • Cooking Supplies – Flour, Sugar, Oil, Salt, Pepper
  • Cleaning Products – Laundry Soap, Dish Soap
  • Paper Products – Paper Towels, Toilet Paper, Kleenex
  • Storage Products – Tin Foil, Plastic Wrap
  • Personal Hygiene Products – Shampoo, Toothpaste, Bath Soap



According to Adrienne Timm, the Director of Social Service Ministry for St. Paul of the Cross Parish (SPC), 160 households were assisted by the food pantry  last month.  Each family received four (4) bags of non-perishable food items and a $25 gift certificate for Jewel.  As SPC prepares for its next distribution day, it needs the following items:

  • Canned green beans
  • Canned corn
  • Chunky soup
  • Canned fruit
  • Canned tuna fish
  • Brownie mix
  • Cold cereal
  • 1-2 lb bags of white rice
  • Cookies
  • Paper towels
  • Toilet paper
  • Jewel Gift Cards*
  • Monetary Donations* (payable to SPC Social Service Ministry) 
  • Trader Joe's, Mariano's, and Whole Foods' paper bags with handles (place directly in food pantry drop box)

Food donations can be placed in the pantry's drop box located on the southeast back corner of the Kinane Center, 215 Ridge Terrace.  Special Arrangements can also be made for large donations by calling 847/692-6767.  Monetary donations and Jewel Gift Cards can be sent to *SPC Social Service Ministry, attn: Adrienne Timm, St. Paul of the Cross Church Rectory, 320 S. Washington, Park RIdge, IL 60068.
