The Park Ridge Fire Department was established in 1893 with volunteer firefighters. Today, the Department provides fire suppression, emergency medical and other emergency services to approximately 37,775 residents within its jurisdiction, as well as to commercial, and residential occupancies over an area that exceeds seven square miles.
The Department is comprised of 48 full-time sworn firefighters. Daily minimum staffing levels require 12 department members to be on duty . The administrative staff consists of a Chief, Executive Officer and Captain (training officer).A Fire Lieutenant and a part-time inspector staff the Fire Prevention Bureau.
