First Community Health Fair to be Held June 23 at Hodges Park

Fair to Feature Local Health Organizations, Fitness Class Demonstrations

A health fair to be held 9 AM-noon June 23 in Hodges Park will showcase a variety of local businesses and organizations that promote health and wellness.  The inaugural health fair, which is free to attend, is a partnership between the City of Park Ridge Community Health Commission and the Park Ridge Park District.  Over 30 businesses will be participating, and the event will feature information about health products and services, health screenings, and fitness demonstrations.

The fair aims to take a holistic approach to health in that it will include resources related to mental health and environmental sustainability in addition to traditional health and fitness information.  This approach mirrors the mission of the Community Health Commission, which was expanded in 2016 to include six focus areas:

  • Disease Education & Prevention
  • Emergency Preparedness & Resiliency
  • Environmental & Sustainability Solutions
  • Outreach & Assistance to Special Populations
  • Substance Abuse & Mental Health
  • Wellness and Safety

The Community Health Commission and the Park District are excited to offer this opportunity for residents to learn about area resources and organizations that can help them live healthier lives.
