Freedom of Information Act

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), 5 ILCS 140/1 et seq., is a State statute providing for public access to government records and information. The Act allows for the inspection of records maintained by the City of Park Ridge and other public bodies. The Act also provides for exemptions of certain secure information.

The City will respond to your request within five business days of receipt of the request. Commercial requests, however, may take up to 21 business days.

You have the right to appeal any denial to the Public Access Counselor of the Illinois Attorney General’s Office at 500 South Second Street, Springfield, Illinois 62706 or to the Circuit Court.
