Residential Stormwater Control

Sewer 101 -  Presented 09/09/13

Stormwater UtilityIn February 2015, the City of Park Ridge hired Christopher B. Burke Engineering LLC as its consultant on the feasibility of establishing a Stormwater Utility. A Stormwater Utility (SWU) is a fee charged to all parcels in the city based on their contribution of stormwater runoff into the sewer system. The runoff amount is proportionate to the amount of impervious, or hard surfaces on a property.

An SWU is considered to be a fair and equitable way to fund stormwater projects and would support the City’s drainage system.
