Join the fun in Park Ridge this weekend

On Friday night:

Cruisin' Park Ridgehosted by the Chamber of Commerce,  will be held  6:00 PM - 9:00 PM in the municipal lot next to the Library and on Summit Avenue between Prospect and Touhy Avenues.  Come see the various muscle cars while enjoying food and drink with entertainment for the kids.  Entrance is free and its fun for the whole family.  Please call (847) 825-3121 for additional information. Remember to save the dates for future car show events on July 7, August 4, and Sept 1.

On Saturday:

The Farmers Market is open on Saturday 7 am - 1 pm bringing local farmers from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin together.  Come shop and enjoy the goodness of fresh herbs, beautiful flowers, fine specialty foods, delicious assortment of baked goods, an endless selection of locally grown fruits and vegetables and much more. The 5th Annual Adult Down Syndrome Center, Fun for Everyone 5K Run/3K Walk will also be held on Saturday, 8:00 AM - 11:30 AM at the Advocate Charitable Foundation, 1775 West Dempster in Park Ridge.  The event is to raise awareness and funds for the Adult Down Syndrome Center (ADSC) at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. This family-friendly event is perfect for runners, walkers, and spectators alike. The 21st Star Chapter NSDAR June Genealogy Workshop will be held 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM in the first floor meeting room at the Park Ridge Public Library located at 20 S. Prospect Avenue.  This drop in workshop is ONLY for WOMEN interested in joining the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.). Attendees will have the opportunity to work with one of the members on the DAR's lineage research team and receive assistance with APPLICATION papers to the DAR. At this workshop, volunteers from the 21st Star Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.) lineage research team will assist you with the completion of the application papers and related requirements for joining the D.A.R. Members will also show you how to find information from many different sources: military records, cemetery records, census data, immigration forms, church records, marriage licenses, death certificates, school records, and birth certificates. Please bring along all your records and information.
