May 27, 2020 06:01 PM

On May 26, Mayor Maloney issued an Executive Order 2020-02 instituting temporary regulatory relief for restaurant establishments due to the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency.  The order is necessary to allow for outdoor capacity expansion as well as providing a mechanism for each unique restaurant to work with the City.  The Order will commence on June 1, when outdoor dining is allowed, or when the City is designated to be in Phase 3 of the Restore Illinois Plan.

The City's Outdoor/Sidewalk Cafe License Application should be completed by restaurants who do not currently hold an Outdoor Cafe License.  The application should be returned promptly to the Community Preservation and Development Department at City Hall either by email at permits or by fax 847/318-6211.  Please call 847/318-5281 with any questions.  Please note that Executive Order 2020-02 overrides any information in the application that differs from the Executive Order.
