As of May 1, 2022, the City has a franchise agreement with Collective Resource Compost for food waste disposal.
Collection of food waste is based on the size of your household. Containers are provided. Single-family homes usually use 5-gallon buckets or collect with their friends or neighbors using 32-gallon Neighbor Totes. Households with 3–4 members usually require a weekly pickup. Households with 1–2 members usually require a biweekly pickup. Containers may be placed for swap out in a spot convenient for the customer on the day of swap out. Food waste collection is not paid for through the property tax. Residents contract services directly through the hauler Collective Resource Compost.
