Park Ridge Firefighters are Filling their Boots for MDA

The Park Ridge Fire Department and Local #2697 will hit the streets on Friday, August 23 and again on Friday, August 30 to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).
Off-duty firefighters will be asking for donations at two locations: the intersection of Greenwood Avenue and Oakton Street and the intersection of Devon and Cumberland Avenues.
The MDA, in conjunction with firefighters across the nation, annually conduct a “Fill-the-Boot” fundraising campaign, which culminates in the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon over Labor Day weekend.  One hundred percent of the proceeds go towards MDA services for families in need.
“Firefighters throughout the United States have been the biggest supporters of the MDA for decades," said Amanda Repp, a fundraising coordinator for MDA Chicago. “The funds raised from this boot drive will stay local, and will help ensure that local families continue to receive the services they need.”
You can visit the Fire Department Administration Building at Devon and Cumberland Avenues to make a donation in person. For more information, contact Jeff Sorensen  at (847) 318-5287 or at
