Park Ridge Police Continue to Make Burglary Arrests a Priority

On September 2, 2014  Park Ridge Police investigators made an arrest for a series of vehicle burglaries which occurred between August 20th and August 23rd. Oscar Montesinos, 20 years of age from the 8400 Block of Dempster Street in Niles, IL was charged with one count of Burglary to Motor Vehicle, a class 2 Felony, for one of the burglaries. Investigators were able to link him to at least 6 more burglaries.

Montesinos is alleged to have stolen computers, garage door openers and other electronics. He used the garage door openers to enter nearby garages in search of other items. Montesinos then pawned some of the items he took. After arresting Montesinos, Park Ridge investigators recovered a radar detector, bags, chargers and various electronic equipment.

Park Ridge investigators worked closely with investigators from the Niles Police Department in developing a suspect. This case illustrates the partnership law enforcement agencies continually work to enhance in support of public safety. In addition, the majority of the vehicles targeted by Montesinos were unlocked. The Park Ridge Police continue to remind vehicle owners to lock their cars after parking them.
