Park Ridge Police Investigate Possible Attempted Child Abduction

On May 30, 2016, at approximately 5:50 pm, Park Ridge Police officers responded to the 1900 block of Parkside Drive for the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a seven (7) year old male who stated that he was playing in the area with a friend when an unknown male subject approached him, grabbed his arm and stated that he had a gun and he was a murderer. The victim pulled away from the subject and sustained a minor scratch on his right arm. The victim stated that he ran from the subject and was chased a short distance at which point the subject fell to the ground, got up and ran in the opposite direction. The area was checked by police with negative results.

The suspect in this incident is described as a Male/White, in his early to mid-twenties, approximately 5’09-6’00 tall, medium build wearing blue shorts/pants, grey shirt and  a blue hat.
