Police Make Disorderly Conduct Arrest

INCIDENT: Disorderly Conduct

Male, 18 years old
Resides in the 8500 block of Foster Ave, Norridge
On the evening of May 5th the Park Ridge Police Department was contacted by concerned parents of a Maine South Student. The parents advised that their son had shown them a Snapchat image of an unknown person holding a rifle with a caption that stated, “No one come to school tomorrow”. The Snapchat had been sent by 18 year old Saul Merino who is also a Maine South Student.
Park Ridge Police immediately responded to the residence of Saul Merino where he was located and ultimately transported to the police station for further investigation. As a result of the investigation it was learned that the Snapchat post was meant as a prank and there was no credible threat.
Charges were approved by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office for felony Disorderly Conduct. Merino was taken to the Cook County 2nd District Courthouse today for a bond hearing. His bond was set at $10,000 D, 10%.
