Preparing for Extreme Heat

July 6, 2020 02:55 PM

With the forecasted extreme high temperatures, the City of Park Ridge wants to make sure that all residents are prepared. The temperatures are predicted to climb into the 90’s and beyond. Please avoid all unnecessary trips and activities and try to limit your time outside, if possible.

It is important to stay cool to maintain a safe body temperature. If you are unable to maintain a cool temperature in your home and have nowhere else to go, you can go to the Park Ridge Police Department, located at 200 S. Vine Avenue and let them know you have no air conditioning in your home.

Additionally, this extreme heat can take its toll on young children, elderly adults and those with health problems. If possible, please check on your neighbors and loved ones periodically to ensure that they are safe and comfortable. If you or anyone you know needs emergency assistance, you can call 911. For all other issues and concerns, you can call the front desk of the Park Ridge Police Department at 847-318-5252.
