Street Resurfacing Project Underway

June 22, 2020 03:03 PM

The City’s annual Street Resurfacing Project is underway.  The contractor, Arrow Road, is posting No Parking signs and distributing a letter to affected residents. This year’s project includes the rehabilitation of approximately 3 miles of roadway.  Improvements include the milling and replacement of the existing pavement, and some inlet adjustment and curb replacement to improve drainage.

A map of the streets scheduled for resurfacing can be found at:

The project duration is approximately 2 months.  It will begin with the grinding of all streets in the program followed by the first level of asphalt being placed.  This work should occur prior to the 4th of July.

Beginning the week of July 6th, the removal and replacement of curb and other concrete will begin, followed by the adjustment of drainage structures and manholes.  The final step is placement of the new asphalt surface.  All scheduled work on the designated streets is contingent on weather and contractor workload.

Each activity is completed on all streets before the next activity begins.  As a result, there are typically long periods of inactivity on each block because the contractor has moved to another location.  Parking on streets will be allowed, even with No Parking signs posted - provided the cars are relocated prior to the contractor doing work on the street that day.

The general sequence of the work is starting at the northwest end of the City, and proceeding west and south.
