Candidates come forward to fill the Third Ward Aldermanic vacancy

The City is pleased to announce that it has received two applications, one from Leonard Berg, and another from Richard Van Roeyen, both who have expressed an interest in serving as Third Ward Alderman as a replacement for the late Alderman Robert Wilkening.

Leonard Berg has been a resident in Park Ridge for the last 20 years.  His interest comes from a deep sense of community which has been developed by his participation with Kiwanis and other civic organizations. His sense of government is that citizens are the City’s customers and should be treated as such.  His professional background includes customer related venues including sales, marketing, revenue forecasts, variance analysis, and project/customer management.

Richard Van Roeyen is an eight year resident of the City.  He believes that his personal and professional experience makes him an outstanding candidate.  Van Roeyen ran an Aldermanic campaign against the late Alderman Wilkening and shared similar views for the future needs of the City.  He is interested in collaborating with current aldermen to maintain the City Council’s commitment to transparency and forge a strong future for Park Ridge.

An interview committee has been formed which consists of five individuals:  Dave Keller, Melissa Hulting, Bob Brandenburg, Lloyd Godfrey, and Matt Coyne.  The City is currently in the process of setting a date for the interviews.
