Updated information about waste pickup from GROOT

Groot will resume bulk item pickup service this week and also pickup of limited construction debris (one cubic yard or less) as per normal procedures.

If you live in one of the handful of homes affected by the recent flooding please follow these guidelines to get your water damaged items collected:


Bulk/Oversized Item Disposal:

Service includes collection of one to two bulk items per week (not appliances/oversized/overweight items) at no additional cost. Bulk items include, but are not limited to, boxes, barrels, crates, furniture, and similar items that do not fit into a proper container and can be safely collected/lifted by one driver without assistance. Collection occurs on the designated collection day. 


Flood/Construction/Demolition Debris:

  • place items in plastic bags that are tied off at the top whenever possible, bags should be less than 45 pounds in weight
  • rolls of carpet can be set out -- but cannot exceed 4 feet in length, 2 feet in diameter and 50 pounds in weight
  • construction debris* (such as drywall) can be put it out in small amounts (one cubic yard or less) in a can with handles or plastic bags.


*Groot takes up to 1 cubic yard per week of debris for no additional fee. Additional cubic yards will be individually billed. Residents must call Groot at 800-244-1977 to schedule a pick-up in advance and to make payment. Visit for more information.
