Winter Storm parkway tree branch collection

Due to the winter storm event Sunday evening, city crews will continue collecting tree branches/debris that fell from parkway trees only, city-wide, throughout the week of December 3 – 7, weather permitting.

Small, private property tree branches will be picked up by Groot on your regularly scheduled garbage day.  If they do not fit in your yard-waste cart or bag, branches must be securely bundled with biodegradable twine, must not exceed 4 feet in length and each bundle cannot be larger than 2 feet in diameter.  Bundles should be placed on the curb or in the alley, depending on your pick-up location, on your regularly scheduled garbage day.  Groot will continue picking up private yard waste through the week December 17th.  Anything larger may require hiring a private contractor.

Please note:  If you wish to remove a private property tree larger than 10” in diameter (DBH) that was damaged during the storm, a tree removal permit is required.  Applications can be found online or at City Hall in the Community, Preservation and Development Department.
