Fire Suppression

The Park Ridge Fire Department takes great pride in our highly trained and professional staff. The department is equipped and trained to handle any type of emergency situation, ranging from an investigation of a strange odor to a large-scale mass casualty disaster.

Our current capabilities include (but are not limited to:)

  • medical emergencies
  • hazard investigations
  • water/ice rescue
  • high rise and below grade rescue
  • vehicle extrication
  • urban search and rescue
  • hazardous materials mitigation
  • vehicle and structural fires
  • environmental emergencies
  • urban terrorism
  • mass casualty incidents
  • natural disasters, and
  • any other threat to the health and safety of the community.

Park Ridge is a member of the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) Division III, which provides a systematic method of sharing apparatus, resources and personnel with other fire departments throughout Illinois. As part of MABAS, Park Ridge also provides and receives automatic aid from neighboring communities. This system insures that all emergency responses receive a sufficient amount of resources to effectively manage any incident.
